Smart Class

The concept of Smart Class education is indeed a blessing to the students of the 21st Century. Technology is changing the way life functions and we at Maheshwari Girls' School have tried to incorporate technology to upgrade the method of teaching. Smart classes use all interactive modules like videos and presentations and these visually attractive methods of teaching becomes appealing to students who are already struggling with the traditional method of teaching in a classroom. In fact, smart classes are almost like watching movies as sometimes, animated visuals are used to teach a point. This kind of visual is both eye-catching and young students can easily relate with them. This is because the audio-visual senses of students are targeted and it helps the students store the information fast and more effectively. And then, there is the advantage of utilizing much of the time wasted earlier in drawing or preparing diagrams on board. Smart boards have all these information in memory and can be presented during the time of class lectures and thus, the time saved can be used in more important things.

Student-parent Counselling

Student-Parent Counselling

With the changing times student counselling has become an integral part of the education system and in order to provide our students the best in terms of guidance and holistic development we have included counseling as major activity of the academic program. A counsellor, like the teachers have a set of professional responsibilities that define their scope of activities addressing the needs of:

Students
Parents/guardians

Working with Students

In our school the counsellor's first professional responsibility is to the students. The educational, academic, career, personal, and social needs of all students within the school setting, from Nursery to Grade 12, are the focus in planning and delivering a developmental, comprehensive guidance and counselling program. The diverse needs of students may require specific counselling expertise and the school counsellor recognize their boundaries of competencies by providing only those services for which they are qualified by training or experience. When students require specialized, intensive or long-term guidance and beyond what the school may reasonably be expected to provide, appropriate referrals are made.

Working with Parents/Guardians

Parents/guardians fulfill a primary role in the lives of their children. Collaboration with parents in the best interest of students is a key activity of school counsellor. The focus of school counselling is for the personal, social, educational, and career development of the student. It helps in providing parents, with accurate information in a caring manner and is a crucial part of working with minors in a school setting. Guiding parents towards the academic performance of their wards and working with students to keep parents appropriately informed without breaching confidentiality is an important responsibility. Counselling helps to bridge communication with parents at every opportunity.
